How it all began...
In 2018 a friend of mine recommended that I read this little book called, Becoming Your Own Banker, by R. Nelson Nash. I read this simple book, written in layman's terms, and a whole new world of finance and money management opened up to me. Honestly, I was rather upset that such a powerful and simple strategy was never taught to me at a young age. Here I was at age 40, learning about something that would come to totally transform my life.
This planted a seed in me to begin studying and researching. That in turn led me to a full on career change, and I became an Authorized Practitioner of the Infinite Banking Concept. I’ve been sharing the concept and helping others to change their lives, as IBC has changed mine. It has been an awesome and rewarding journey! Little did I know at the time, that this would someday lead to founding The Motley Bankers!
Family & Fun
My greatest passions are each of my children and being an excellent father to them. Beyond that, I also really enjoy my time with friends, classic diesel cars, and an excellent cup of coffee!
Our Vision
Our ultimate mission is to teach people to become their own banker. We have never seen any other path where the average “Joe or Sally” can make some simple and prudent decisions, and by doing so, not only change the wealth of their family tree in one generation, but also control the banking and finance function as well. It is far more powerful that most people realize.
Our goal of course is to help people attain independent financial control and freedom and whatever level they wish, whether it is planning for supplemental retirement income, or wanting to succeed from commercial banks altogether.
What Makes Us Unique?
We are set apart from others in several ways. First off, we are NOT licensed financial advisors, and we do NOT want to be! We do not have a license to steal people’s money! We know that’s a bold statement, but the fact is that our approach does not subject the growth and management of client dollars to management fees, point drag, or any other type of surcharge that eats away at growth. In fact, nothing we do is, or is related to, an investment in the stock market. Our clients are 100% protected from market volatility, which provides an amazing amount of peace.
Our entire goal is to teach self-reliance and privatization of finance needs. We are 100% focused on our clients needs and wants and each plan we build is customized to what they are trying to achieve.
Qualifications, Certifications, and Achievements
We are licensed in Life and Health Insurance in my resident state of Oregon, and we hold non-resident licenses in many states across the Republic. We proudly help people in all 50 States.
We also have earned the status of Authorized Practitioner of the Infinite Banking Concept from the Nelson Nash Institute.
We have also gone through the YNAB Certified Coaching Program and earned the status of YNAB Certified Coach.
Regarding achievements, we have helped many clients achieve debt free status by helping them increase their budgeting skills, and then teaching them how to leverage IBC to become their own banker for their life. In one case, specifically, we helped a client save approximately $90,000 in interest costs by employing these strategies.
